Pinnacle Training has provided learning opportunities for people with additional learning support needs since 2005. We offer young people and adults the opportunity to learn in an accessible, supportive environment with adequate resources.

  • We have long established working relationships with local disability service providers and community groups.
  • Our classes offer learners the opportunity to make new friends, use training facilities in the community, learn new skills and achieve accredited qualifications.
  • We can accommodate learners and groups that experience particular barriers to participation and find it more difficult to engage in the formal learning process.
  • We ensure that our staff and trainers have the right skills to support learners with additional needs, and that our programmes are well-suited to each learner’s needs and preferences.

ICDL Digital Citizen

ICDL Digital Citizen is specially developed to cater for those with no experience whatsoever of computers and the Internet. ICDL Digital Citizen helps to remove the fear of using a computer for complete novices by using a simple, non-threatening approach to educating individuals in the basic skills of using a computer, email and the Internet.

  • It is a fun, informal and uncomplicated introduction to computers and the Internet for complete beginners.
  • It is designed to give an appreciation and basic understanding of computers and the Internet.
  • It is designed to build confidence and provide a basis to encourage further exploration and development of computer and Internet skills.

The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to describe the role of computers in everyday life and to operate a personal computer safely in a supervised environment.

Aim:

  1. To introduce the learner to computers
  2. To give the learner confidence in using and understanding computers
  3. To introduce the learner to computer terminology and computer components
  4.  To give the learner confidence in connecting up all components of a computer
  5. To support the learner to correctly start-up and shut down a computer independently.
  6. To enable learners to understand basic ergonomic and health and safety around using a computer
  7. To understand the impact of computers in everyday life.
  8. To introduce the learner to basic fie management
  9. To allow the learner to access and use basic elements of software applications e.g. Microsoft  Word, Microsoft Outlook (Email), Internet Explorer (The Internet) etc
