Teaching Diploma In Education Practice: ICT Skills (JEB)

This qualification is an internationally recognised teaching and training qualification, recognised by private colleges, Vocational Educational Colleges (VEC), FAS and many other training institutions as a teaching qualification.
Students that successfully complete the course can progress to the Advanced Diploma in ICT Skills and progress to teach this course themselves.
For those who wish to start teaching ICT in a School, College or Commercial environment, the qualification will confirm their understanding of teaching and learning principles and practice.
The Level 4 course requires completion of two level 4 certificates, which leads to a Diploma in Teaching and Learning (equivalent to Major Award at Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications).

The two level 4 certificates are:
  • Certificate in Teaching ICT Skills

  • Certificate in Principles of Teaching and Learning

Who should attend: Candidates must have ECDL or equivalent level computer skills. Candidates must be 20 years of age on the final assessment date. Teachers with H Dip Ed or B Ed are eligible for exemption from the Principles of Teaching and Learning Module.

Course Details:

Option 1 – Evening Course

The course will run from 6.00pm-9.00pm one evening per week for 20 weeks. Candidates will also have to attend one additional day required for the Teaching Practice Exam.

Option 2 – Distance Learning

The course will be delivered over approximately a 24 week period, distance learning candidates can attend 5 contact classes over the duration of the course.

Option 3 – Distance Learning

Study entirely by Distance Learning receiving weekly notes, exam papers and project work.

For Distance Learning option you will have to attend – 1 x written exam and 2 x teaching practice sessions
